Life Long Learning Spring Semester 2020

The Arc Gloucester's Life Long Learning Program is dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals 18+ to pursue their interests in an inclusive, fun-filled community environment.  

Classes begin Monday, March 23 and are held at Calvary Chapel Gloucester County, 5360 Route 42, Tunersville, NJ 08012 (Directly behind Starbucks)

Course offerings for the upcoming semester include:

 Health & Wellness "Cooking for Life"
Instructor:  Karen Spieker

Back by popular demand, "Cooking" is returning to LLL! We will learn and explore many different cooking methods. Hot plates, electric fryers, toaster ovens, crock pots, air fryers and Nu Wave cookers will all be used to create some tasty foods. Focus will be on healthy but delicious recipes and the main ingredient, as always, will be fun! Spring into action and sign up today!

Health & Wellness "Girls Night Out"
Instructors:  Robyn Blanchard, Licensed Beautician and Registered Nurse

Let your hair down with your new besties! Learn how to look and feel good while you create a fresh new look for Spring! Each week, we'll engage in DIY Health and Wellness sessions in a sassy salon atmosphere. Gal pals will explore new deep cleansing facials, moisturizing hand and arm massages, trendy hairstyles and manicures. We will develop lasting friendships by sharing our thoughts, listening to music and telling jokes!

Health & Wellness  "Karaoke/Country Western Dancing
Instructors:  Francyne Zeoli

We're gonna take our horses to the "Old Town Road" and we'll ride til we can't no more! Belt out the tunes with a country twang and two-step your way to fitness! Wear your cowboy boots and hat to capture the essence of the Wild Wild West with popular country moves and tunes!

Health & Wellness  "Let's Dance"
Instructor:  Professional dancers from Ballroom Dancing for a Better U

Do you enjoy going to weddings? Dances? Come and learn popular dances such as Macarena, Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide and More! For those of you who enjoy ballroom dancing, it will still be available in this class. 

Fine Arts "Is this the Surreal Life?  Is this just fantasy?"
Instructor:  Stephanie Littleton

Explore the effects of Music on Artworks inspired by the dreamlike imagery of surrealism!

Arts & Crafts  "Spring Crafting"
Instructor:  Kate Ryan

Come and join us to make fun crafts, including decorating terracotta pots, planting pretty spring flowers, and of course working with paint and wood!  

Performing Arts "All Together Now Music" Workshop
Instructors:  Laura Reynolds and Nicole Reynolds

In the All Together Now Music group workshops, participants will have the opportunity to explore and play many different instruments, with some instruction, including guitars, ukuleles, drums, keyboards, violins, banjos and more. We will then form bands, playing the songs that are chosen by the group.  No musical experience is necessary to join this group.  Whether you are a beginner or advanced musician, this group is for you!

The Arc Gloucester And "Ballroom Dancing for a Better U " present "Health & Wellness Through Ballroom Dancing" classes!

Work with professional dance instructors to learn fun and exciting dances.  Ballroom dance provides a tremendous amount of health benefits such as toning and strengthening muscles, conditioning the body, maintaining bone density, improving mental health & reducing chances of dementia all while burning calories!

GeneLaPierre of LaPierre Ballroom Dance Studio and Director & Founder of "Ballroom Dancing for a Better U" along with his team conducts ballroom dancing classes at The Arc Gloucester's Sunshine Inn at Camp Sun ‘N Fun every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 10:00am-11:00am. Over the past few months our students have learned the Tango, Merengue, Fox Trot, and Hustle! Anyone can participate and join in at any time!
