Direct Support Professional - Residential

Provide support to individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities in daily activities ranging from personal care to developing relationships in the community at any one of our residential homes throughout Gloucester County.  Our group homes are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.  

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver's license with 5 points or less
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Satisfactorily pass physical/drug screening/criminal check which includes CARI
  • 1 to 3 months experience, training and/or education preferred
  • Nurse's Aide and/or nursing home care experience a plus.  
  • FT/PT Positions, Various shifts and days
  • FT Benefits include: medical, dental, life insurance, pension, and paid vacation/sick/personal time.  
  • PT Benefits include: paid vacation/sick/personal time

Food Services Supervisor (Full Time)

Requirements

  • Ensure that the highest standards of safety and sanitation are followed in the kitchen and store fronts throughout the day.
  • Inspect all food deliveries being made, check for quality and accuracy, and sign the invoices only after being inspected. Report to the General Manager any items that may be damaged, spoiled, short, or unacceptable in any way.
  • Ensure all food and supplies that are stored properly and rotated using the First In, First Out (FIFO) standard.
  • Prepare food according to the planned menu and test uniformity of recipes.
  • Determine if the finished product is of the best quality in both flavor and appearance before it is stocked on sales floor and or served.
  • Supervise and operate various kitchen equipment; train others in the safe operation of equipment.
  • Ensure that the preparation, serving, and storing of all food items meet the quality and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain correct holding temperatures of food.
  • Ensure that all leftovers are properly stored or disposed of.
  • Delegate job duties to Food Service Employees to ensure smooth work flow and completion of all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supervise and instruct staff on the proper and safe handling of all kitchen equipment.
  • Train staff on procedures, policies, expectations, etc.
  • Report any problems or accidents occurring to the General Manager of Food Service Office.
  • Ensure all storage areas are secured and account for all kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to established personal hygiene techniques and uniform requirements.
  • Display the highest ethical and professional behavior in working with staff, individuals in training, all Arc of Gloucester personnel, and outside agencies.
  • Demonstrate positive attitude, appropriate attire and grooming, and an effective work ethic.
  • Participate in workshop and in-service programs, attending all required meetings.
  • Use computers and/or electronic equipment to fulfill job functions.
  • Adhere to federal statutes and regulations, State and local health agency requirements, DDD rules and regulations, policies and procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the General Manager of Food Services and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation

Qualifications and Requirements:

Either:

  • Hold an Associate’s degree with specific major and at least 1 year of relevant experience, -OR-
  • High School Diploma (or GED) and 3 years of relevant experience (Relevant experience is defined as previously working in a food service operation and or experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities).

The applicant must also:

  • Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with individuals in training, staff, administration, state agencies and the community.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
  • Provide proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
  • Satisfactorily pass physical/drug screening/criminal check which includes CARI.
  • Obtain Servsafe Managers certification within 90 days of employment hire date.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Day

Full Time Monday through Friday at one of our several Adult Training Sites in Gloucester County working with men and women with developmental disabilities.  

  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADL's) i.e. feeding, toileting, changing diapers. 
  • Provide consumers with recreational opportunities. 
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Over 18 years of age
  • Ability to successfully pass a physical which includes a drug screen, criminal background check, and CARI is required. 
  • Previous experience as a nurse's aide or training is preferred.

Residential and Assistant Residential Manager

The Arc Gloucester is seeking both a Director and an Assistant Residential Manager to work full time in a Group Home in Gloucester County.

  • A minimum of three years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Supervisory/Management experience preferred.
  • BS/BA degree preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required with 5 points or less.
  • FT benefits package.

Driver - CDL - Part-time 28 hours

Local driving of the indivudals we service to their activities and programs.  Responsible for ensuring passenger safety, the cleaning of vehicle and communication for the need for repairs.  A CDL driver's license with passenger endorsement required with 5 points or less.  Satisfactorily pass physical/drug screaming/criminal check chich includes CARI check.  

 

Driver - Substitute - as needed

Local driving of the individuals we service to their activities and programs, mainly in the evenings and weekends. Responsible for ensuring passenger safety, the cleaning of the vehicle and communication for the need for repairs. A driver's license required with 5 points or less. Satisfactorily pass ongoing physical/drug screening/criminal check which includes CARI check.

In-Home Respite

In-Home Respite Program and Saturday Drop-Off P/T, 15-19 hrs. per week (avg.); provide direct care services for children and adults with developmental disabilities either in their homes or in center based program; various days/hours based on the need of the families, with late afternoon, night and weekend hours being the most needed; must have access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with 5 points or less to travel throughout Gloucester County and HS diploma/GED is required; experience with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities a plus. 

After School Aide – Part time

Provide supervision and assistance to children with development disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities in an after school program. Potential hours are from 2 pm to 6 pm Monday - Friday when school is in session and vary with student participation. 

Experience working with children (ages 5 - 21) with developmental disabilities a plus.  Staff employed at The Arc Gloucester must successfully complete the provided training within ninety (90) days of date of hire. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license. High School Diploma or GED required

Maintenance (Handyperson) Worker

Basic knowledge and experience of maintenance and repairs to office, buildings, grounds and equipment. Must have general handyperson knowledge such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, janitorial, lawn maintenance and snow removal. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, effectively and professionally with program staff and individuals served.

Camp Sun N Fun - Summer Seasonal Camp Positions

It is not too early to think about working for the summer only at our day and overnight camp. Must be 18 years of age or older, have a high school degree or GED and willing to be trained and have fun. Our camp is located in a beautifully wooded rural section of Williamstown, NJ. THe camp's charming, rustic atmosphere and diverse staff including international exchange counselors, offers camping excellence for campers (children and adults) each session.
