The Arc Gloucester's programs and services support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in all areas of their life. Residential, respite, and vocational programs are designed to meet the needs of each individual and create opportunities for growth and independence.
Our person-centered Day Habilitation services are designed to foster growth and development. The goal is to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) achieving their goals, big or small, each day. Through gaining new skills, participants can discover greater independence and express personal choice in their services.
The focus is on developing and promoting:
• Problem-Solving Skills
• Adaptive Skills
• Daily Living Skills
• Social Skills
• Leisure Skills

Virtual Programming, Pre-Vocational Training & Supported Employment
Due to COVID-19, we were forced to cancel our in-person programming. Since then, we've been brainstorming ways to keep the individuals in our program engaged and educated. We now offer virtual programming for the individuals in our programs. Individuals can enroll in multiple classes a day in a variety of educational topics such as cooking, fitness, sensory development, social media training, learning Spanish, and more!
We provide learning and work experiences to help individuals with IDD succeed in the community. Participation in this program (individual or small group) develops common workplace skills.
Supported Employment is designed to help obtain and maintain a job in the general workforce. Job training opportunities may be available at one of our businesses.
Respite Services & Community Based Supports
Each and every individual and family is unique in their support needs. Respite services provide support to individuals with IDD in addition to giving caregivers much needed personal time. Be it for a few hours, days, or weeks, we have options, including:
- Saturday Drop-Off
- Community Supports
- In-Home Respite
- Overnight/Day Camp
- Overnight Respite
