The Arc Gloucester in partnership with ACT (Adult Center for Transition) presents "Artivity" - Fall 2016

Show your colors!  Let's go on an adventure into learning about various artists and ways to create unique pieces of art like the masters.  We will draw, paint and create sculptures.  Our primary goal is to develop an awareness and appreciation for the visual experience and discover the limitless possibilities for making things of beauty and delight.

Classes will be held on Fridays at the Adult Center for Transition  1400 Tanyard Road, Sewell,  Instructional Center Room 441, from 9:00-12:00 pm on the following dates:  September 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th  •  October 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th  •  November 4th, 11th and 18th  •  December 2nd, 9th and 16th

Tuition - $260 for 14 weeks.  Includes all materials and supplies.  Minimum of 8 students to hold the class.  Transportation to and from weekly classes is notprovided.  Open to all students ages 18 and over.  For additional information, please call Brenda Scardefield, Asst. The Arc Gloucester in partnership with ACT (Adult Center for Transition) presents "Eat, Sing & Dance Around the World" - Fall, 2016

Do you enjoy eating foods from other countries?  Ever wonder what it would be like to live somewhere else? Do you want to explore your own family heritage?  Do you like to cook, craft, sing and even dance?

This program has it all and is loads of fun too!!

Lots of "hands on" opportunities to learn about different countries by following recipes, cooking and tasting samples of food, listening to music, dancing, researching points of interest, learning the  customs, creating art, learning a few words of different languages and more.

Improve your ability , skills and techniques to interact in the community with people from different ethnic backgrounds that you may encounter in everyday life.  Guest speakers will provide firsthand    experiences and families are welcome to share their heritages too!!

Classes will be held at the Adult Center for Transition. 530 Salina Road, Sewell, on Tuesday afernoons from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm on the following dates:  September 13th, 20th and 27th  •  October 4th, 11th and 18th  •  November 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th  •  December 6th, 13th and 20th

The Arc Gloucester's Life Long Learning Program for adults age 21 and over - Fall Semester 2016

The Life Long Learning program is dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals to pursue their interests in an inclusive, fun-filled community environment.  Fall Semester 2016 Courses: 

Health & Wellness "Smoothy Spa":  Pamper yourself in this one of a kind smoothy spa.   In the first half of the class, you will learn how to create your own delicious and nutritious smoothy drink in a healthy kitchen with fresh fruits and vegetables.  When you return from your break,the kitchen will be converted into a healthy food spa where you will learn how to use natural foods to enhance the appearance of your skin, hair and nails. This unique class will be presented with an upbeat format by Robyn Blanchard, RN, licensed registered nurse and cosmetologist.

Health & Wellness "Ballroom Dancercise!":  Do you love to dance?  Did you know that ballroom dancing is a form of exercise?  Come join us and find out!  You will improve your health, build up your self-confidence, and make new friends while learning dances like the Hustle, Tango, Fox Trot, Merengue and Cha Cha!  Instructors are professional dancers from Ballroom Dancing for a Better U.

Fine Arts "Painting with Pop":  Welcome to the wonderful world of painting.  In this class, be ready to get a little messy as we make works of art that pop right off the canvas!  Come and enjoy the company of others while you learn how to paint masterpieces of your very own.  Instructor:  Stephanie Littleton

Arts & Crafts "Crafts Galore & More!":  Enjoy with us the upcoming seasonal Fall holidays that will provide the inspiration for our fabulous craft activities to include painting, printing, felting, gluing, mod podge, sculpting, weaving and mosaics.  Supplies will not only come from the art store and my now famous "little red craft wagon", but we will also utilize found nature items, everyday objects and even recycled materials.  It all comes together for you to complete beautiful keepsake projects! You only need to bring a creative spirit and a smile!  Instructor:  Karen Spieker

Performing Arts "Super Hero Squad!":  POW!- BAM!- BOOM!  Heighten your imagination by pretending to leap & scale tall buildings at a single bound. Jump and fly high-up in the sky to rescue innocent bystanders & save the world!  Explore your favorite super hero powers and engage in exciting friendly fights against crime!  Instructor:  Francyne Zeoli.

Semester Class Dates:  Every Monday, September 19, 2016 - November 21, 2016.  No Class on October 10th and October 31st.  Time:  6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.  Location:  Bankbridge Regional School, Sewell, NJ.

The Arc Gloucester And "Ballroom Dancing for a Better U " present "Health & Wellness Through Ballroom Dancing" classes!

Work with professional dance instructors to learn fun and exciting dances.  Ballroom dance provides a tremendous amount of health benefits such as toning and strengthening muscles, conditioning the body, maintaining bone density, improving mental health & reducing chances of dementia all while burning calories!

GeneLaPierre of LaPierre Ballroom Dance Studio and Director & Founder of "Ballroom Dancing for a Better U" along with his team conducts ballroom dancing classes at The Arc Gloucester's Sunshine Inn at Camp Sun ‘N Fun every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 10:00am-11:00am. Over the past few months our students have learned the Tango, Merengue, Fox Trot, and Hustle! Anyone can participate and join in at any time!
