The Arc Gloucester's Life Long Learning Program for adults age 21 and over - Fall Semester 2018

The Life Long Learning program is dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals to pursue their interests in an inclusive, fun-filled community environment.  Fall Semester 2018 Courses: 

Health & Wellness "Cooking for Everyday Life":  Instructor:  Karen Spieker

Fall into the season with healthy options for your seasonal favorites.  The Cooking for Everyday Life Class will prepare healthy and hearty meal options for the colder weather that is coming. Learn how to make soups and warm beverages that will satisfy and warm cold fingers and toes. Need a snack?  We have great recipes that will keep you on track with making great dietary choices while you get your exercise raking all those leaves.  We will also give you some holiday options and suggestions to keep the healthy vibe going right thru the winter. And learn basic cooking skills too!!!   Join us for all the fun!!!


Health & Wellness "Ballroom Dancercise!": Instructors: Professional dancers from Ballroom Dancing for a Better U

Do you enjoy going to weddings? Dances? Come and learn popular dances - Macarena, Electrice Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide and more!  Get dance-floor ready" for your next social event.  For those of you who enjoy ballroom dancing, it will still be available in this class.

Health & Wellness "Go Ball-istic!": Instructors: Robyn Blanchard, RN & Francyne L. Zeoli

Bounce your way into our creative yet competitive club of innovative ball handlers! Roll with laughter as your dueling sister coaches (Francyne & Robyn) engage in friendly competition with their assigned team players.  Balls will fly, bounce, roll and whip into the air!  You'll have so much fun that you won't realize how hard you're working out!

Fine Arts "Canvas Creations":  Instructor:  Stephanie Littleton

Come out and let your creative painting juices flow in a fun-filled inclusive environment. Each night you will learn how to make a new painting that will be displayed in an art show at our closing ceremony for the final class! 

Arts & Crafts "Fall Crafting Fun":  Instructor:  Kate Ryan

Calling all crafters! Bring your creative talents as we utilize paint, wood, special fabrics, mason jars, mugs, plants and other interesting supplies to create projects that will dazzle and amaze friends and family.  You won't want to miss our unique beauty night where special soaps and bath bombs will be made for those soothing, relaxing times that chase away any chill the season brings.  Let the many colors of fall provide the inspiration and a willingness to try new ideas be your guide into an exploration of crafting delight.    

Performing Arts "All Together Now Music: Workshop:  Instructors Laura Reynolds and Nicole Reynolds

In the All Together Now Music group workshops, participants will have the opportunity to explore and play many different instruments, with some instruction, including guitars, ukuleles, drums, keyboards, violins, banjos and more. We will then form bands, playing the songs that are chosen by the group.  No musical experience is necessary to join this group.  Whether you are a beginner or advanced musician, thisgroup is for you!

Semester Class Dates:  Every Monday, September 17, 2018 - November 19, 2017.  No Class on October 8th and November 12th.  Time:  6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.  Location: Bankbridge Regional School, 870 Bank Bridge Blvd., Sewell, NJ.  

Registration Deadline:  September 7, 2018

Classes qualify for your Self Directed Budget or Interim Supports Program Budget

The Arc Gloucester And "Ballroom Dancing for a Better U " present "Health & Wellness Through Ballroom Dancing" classes!

Work with professional dance instructors to learn fun and exciting dances.  Ballroom dance provides a tremendous amount of health benefits such as toning and strengthening muscles, conditioning the body, maintaining bone density, improving mental health & reducing chances of dementia all while burning calories!

GeneLaPierre of LaPierre Ballroom Dance Studio and Director & Founder of "Ballroom Dancing for a Better U" along with his team conducts ballroom dancing classes at The Arc Gloucester's Sunshine Inn at Camp Sun ‘N Fun every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 10:00am-11:00am. Over the past few months our students have learned the Tango, Merengue, Fox Trot, and Hustle! Anyone can participate and join in at any time!
