Camp Sun ‘N Fun is owned and operated by The Arc Gloucester, a team of caring people motivated to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families reach their highest potential through advocacy, education and quality services. Our camp is located in a beautifully wooded rural section of Williamstown, New Jersey. The camp's charming, rustic atmosphere and diverse staff, including international exchange counselors, offers camping excellence for up to 45 campers (children and adults) each session. The camping season will run from 6/21/15 through 8/23/15.  Positions available:

Residential Counselors* (Live-In) -  Responsible for the supervision and total care of campers assigned, including hygiene needs. Assist in developing, carrying out and participation in the daily programs.

Day Camp Counselors*Responsible for the supervision and total care of campers assigned, including hygiene needs. Assist in developing, carrying out and participation in the daily programs.

Health and Safety Staff/Medics* -  Must have a minimum of a current American Red Cross First Responder Certificate or an EMT Certification. Responsible for maintaining health and safety of all campers and staff including administering of daily medications. Rotating shifts including overnights and weekend hours required. 

Water Safety Instructor - Age 21+.Responsible for total the maintenance and  operation of the pool and pool area. Responsible for the planning and implementation of the pool  program including instruction, recreation and safety. Must hold a current WSI Certification.  Experience preferred. Assists with the direct care of campers as needed.

Lifeguards*Must hold current Red Cross Life Savings Certificate. Assist with planning and implementation of the daily pool programs. Responsible to assist with the direct care of campers as needed.

* Must be age 18 or older unless specified.

Maintenance Worker (Temporary FT)

The Arc Gloucester is seeking an experienced Maintenance Worker (Temporary FT) to perform routine repairs and general maintenance of office, job sites and residential programs throughout Gloucester County.  Must have general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, janitorial, lawn maintenance, and snow removal.  Must demonstrate the ability to work independently.  

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Satisfactorily pass physical/drug screening

 

Direct Support Professional/Residential Technician

Provide support to people with developmental disabilities in daily activities ranging from personal care to developing relationships in the community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Satisfactorily pass physical/drug screening
  • 1 to 3 months experience, training and/or education preferred
  • Nurse's Aid and/or nursing home care experience a plus.  

Our group homes are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.  

  • FT/PT Positions, Various shifts and days

Director of Human Resources

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts degree required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • PHR Certification preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in human resources, management and/or development.
  • A valid driver's license is also required.  


Responsibilities

  • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
  • Recruit, source, select and hire quality applicants to fulfill needs in a timely manner, either through direct advertising, recruitment firms, employee referrals, or other means..
  • Analyze statistical data and reports to develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and procedures.  
  • Identify, provide and evaluate learning opportunities, e.g. career development, technical training, and skills training, either internally or externally delivered, that maximize employee capability and align with organizational objectives
  • Maintain records, and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Perform selected staffing duties, including dealing with under staffing, resolving conflicts and administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Plan and conduct new employee processing to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Prepare and follow budgets for human resources operations.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Represent the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.  
  • Study legislation, arbitration decisions and professional publications to asses industry needs.
  • All staff must comply with the DDD Program Manual, The Arc Gloucester Policies and Procedures Manual and applicable state, local and federal regulations.
  • Employee must cooperate with The Arc Gloucester, Division Staff and Developmental Disability Licensing staff in any review, investigation or inspection.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Assistant Residential Director

The Arc Gloucester is seeking an Assistant Residential Director to work full time in a Group Home in Gloucester County.

  • A minimum of three years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Supervisory/Management experience preferred.
  • BS/BA degree preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • FT benefits package.
