Family Support is a system designed to strengthen and promote the family unit. This system should include a varied and flexible array of programs and services intended to help support families caring for a family member with a developmental disability residing in their home.
Family support services may include: respite (in-home and out-of-home), summer camp programs, after-school activities for children, evening programs for adults, Saturday recreation programs for children and adults, cash subsidy, parent education, to name a few.
