Inclusive Recreation ProgramWhat is it? Funded through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), the Inclusive Recreation Program provides financial assistance to families interested in utilizing inclusive recreation programs/activities in the community for their son/daughter/family member with a developmental disability. Who is eligible? Individuals registered with DDD who reside in Gloucester County. How do I access the service? Contact your DDD assigned case manger and request a referral for the Inclusive Recreation Program through The Arc Gloucester. You should have information available for the case manager regarding programs and costs. What happens after I request a referral? Your request will be reviewed by DDD. Upon approval, your request will be forwarded to The Arc Gloucester for processing. You will be contacted by a Team Leader from The Arc Gloucester. Further details will be given at that time as to the amount approved by DDD and when a check will be sent out. Funding amounts will vary from year to year, based on availability. What kind of inclusive activities are available? Inclusive recreation activities/programs include, but are not limited to: swim lessons, karate classes, gymnastics, sports camps, horseback riding, after-school program, day care, music lessons, dance lessons to name a few. You may also request funds to cover the cost of uniforms, equipment, and/or a shadow/buddy if needed. For additional information call The Arc Gloucester 856-848-8648.
