In-Home Respite

The In-Home Respite Program strives to help families caring for an individual with developmental disabilities by offering temporary relief from the responsibility of providing care.

Trained, qualified staff can provide a few hours of relief in your home on a short-term, planned basis. Limited response is available for emergencies and overnight services.

To qualify for In-Home respite services, individuals must be:

• Three years of age to adult
• Residents of Gloucester County
• Eligible for services through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD)

Tuckahoe Respite Program

Tuckahoe Respite program strives to help family’s care for a developmentally disabled relative by providing short term planned respite services.

Our facility built in 1997 on the grounds of Camp Sun ‘N Fun in Williamstown NJ, can accommodate those who may be medically frail or non-ambulatory. The 4,200 square-foot rancher is equipped with extra wide halls and curved walls to allow for better wheelchair mobility. Bathrooms are fitted with special showers and bathtubs to accommodate wheelchairs and Hoyer lifts.

The Tuckahoe Respite House is designed to provide guests with a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Admission Procedures

Requests for admission to our Respite programs should be made through the service recipient’s case manager or by calling the Southern Regional Office of the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Camden, NJ (856) 614-3400.

After the family is approved for Respite Services by DDD, the necessary arrangements will be made in regards to the specific program they have been approved for including the required applications, interviews and schedules.
