Adult TrainingThe Arc Gloucester’s Adult Training Services serve individuals with a wide range of abilities, from those requiring total care to those capable of working in a supported employment environment. Adults with severe and profound disabilities are served by our Special Needs Program. This total-care day program strives to improve the individual’s functioning level through activities focusing on range of motion exercises, sensory awareness, fine and gross motor activities, eating and drinking skills, environmental awareness and relation techniques. Four of our Adult Training Sites offer training that focuses on practical arts, personal awareness, and social skills, while seeking contracts for meaningful work that provides participants with a paycheck for their efforts. The Arc’s Supported Employment program assists individuals in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment. Through the training provided at The Arc Bakery, Copy Center, Thrift Store and Crew Labor, individuals with developmental disabilities receive the experience they need interacting with the public. These jobs place individuals with disabilities in a work setting to interact with the public and provide customers with quality products. Each Adult Training Site (ATS) specializes in various areas of work:
Senior groups at Franklinville and Woodbury attend several events and activities in the community through local senior centers.
