Staff Training

The Arc Gloucester affirms the rights of people with disabilities to be treated with respect and dignity, to be accorded choices, and to be included in the life of the community.

Training also includes:

• Administrating and documenting medication
• CPS/First Aid
• Universal precautions for preventing the spread of infection
• Crisis Management
• Prevention of abuse and neglect

The Arc Gloucester is committed to providing training and education for personnel throughout their employment. When necessary, professional consultants may be called upon to train staff to:

• Understand specific medical or psychiatric conditions
• Develop positive approaches to problem-solving
• Utilize behavior management approaches

Quality Enhancement

The Arc is committed to providing quality services that meet the consumer's needs. A Quality Enhancement team, comprised of staff and volunteers, visits each program annually to measure service outcomes.

The Quality Enhancement program also ensures that existing programs are constantly improving, and that new services are initiated to meet new needs.
