About The Arc Gloucester

The Arc Gloucester was incorporated in 1957 under then President, Robert H. Weir. The founding board members included:

  • Charter President Robert H. Weir and his wife Dottie
  • Vice President Charles Funk and his wife Ginny
  • Ralph and Kay Sundy
  • Charles and Peg Hammel
  • Hugh and Sally Cullin
  • Ethel Lucas
  • Jim and Eleanor Geiger

The unit's first project was the opening of the Training School in Pitman. The unit also opened its first day camp, Camp Precious.

Mission Statement

The Arc Gloucester is a non-profit organization serving people with intellectual and related developmental disabilities and their families through education, advocacy and direct services.

Vision Statement

The vision of The Arc Gloucester is to enhance the quality of live for individuals with intellectual and related developmental disabilities thereby resulting in improved quality of life for the families.
